“I would describe myself as a creative person and have a love of solving puzzles, this is particularly useful for bookkeeping! My creative side includes my hobbies of gardening, floristry, arts and crafts. I grow my own vegetables and enjoy foraging in our village for fruits that can be used for jams, jellies and flavoured gins. I love to read, and I am hoping to get another rescue dog to give it a chance of a forever home.”

Annie was born and bred on Merseyside, leaving school at 16 to become an apprentice hairdresser. She moved South to find work aged 18 and arrived in Maidenhead to stay with relatives securing a job as a telephonist and receptionist for a domestic appliance company. From there Annie gradually became involved in all aspects of the business including bookkeeping. After completing her Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification in 1999 she has worked for various businesses as a bookkeeper ever since.

“My arrival at Starfish Accounting in 2021 has coincided with the start of another lockdown, so I have had to get up to speed while working remotely. Although it has been a baptism of fire it has been a really good example of how much of a difference it makes using online accounting tools. I am looking forward to being able to work in the office with the rest of the team later in the year.”
