Katie Topping

“I am a mother of 8 year old twin boys and also a serial entrepreneur, so run my own business outside of Starfish Accounting offering costume jewellery and accessories.

When time permits, my other passion is photography, capturing people and their emotions and amazing landscapes.

Post university, I took some time out to travel.  Starting on the East Coast of the USA, moving on to Australia and then Thailand.  This gave me the opportunity to explore my more adventurous side, trying my hand at hang-gliding, bungee jumping, sky-diving and achieving my PADI certification in scuba-diving.”

On her return from travelling and completion of a BA (Hons) Business Information Systems degree Katie started her work life at IBM, spending 10 years, initially focusing on Service Management & Marketing before finally settling into Bid Management.

Eventually deciding that ‘Corporate’ life was not for her, Katie left to embark on a different career path and started a business, dog walking and pet sitting.  However, this was not compatible with twin buggies, so once the boys were born Katie started her jewellery business.

Always interested in numbers, during a conversation with Georgi in her capacity as her accountant, it was agreed that she work a few days a week as an Accounts Assistant.

Katie has now been with Starfish Accounting since May 2015 and has already completed a Bookkeeping and Accounts level one qualification.
