Jennifer Grocott

“I am mum to an eight year old daughter and six year old son.  When they’re not keeping me busy, I enjoy lots of exercise in the form of running, cycling and HIIT.  I like to have a creative outlet and love the challenge of creating the children’s birthday cakes, sewing clothes and costumes and turning my hand to arts and crafts.”

Jennifer, also known as Jen, graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering with Biochemical Engineering and embarked on a career with a subsidiary of Exxon as a Process Engineer.  After some years of living in Wales, she moved to Maidenhead to be closer to her now husband and started work at Gillette and then latterly Procter and Gamble.  Jen has held numerous roles encompassing project, people and budget management; process design and optimisation and stewardship.

“I love being organised, have a good attention to detail and I’ve always enjoyed working with numbers.  In 2016, I re-evaluated my work-life balance and decided that I needed to leave the corporate world and find something that would allow me work more easily around my family’s needs.  I decided to re-train and accountancy seemed a logical fit to my needs and skill base.  I have since completed AAT level 2 and level 3 and am now a qualified AAT Bookkeeper.  I hope to continue my studies and complete level 4.”

Jen joined Starfish Accounting in September 2018.
