Georgi Rollings

“I have twin 9 year old daughters and enjoy the challenge of running a household and a business.  But it would be nearly impossible without the support of a great husband.

Not that there is much time for hobbies with these two roles, but when I can, I enjoy crafting, in particular knitting.  My girls are getting to the age where they are enthusiastic students when I have wool around.”

Georgi started as a chartered accountant at Deloitte & Touche in London in 1996, transferring to their San Jose office in California in 2000 where she worked with Silicon Valley start-ups.  This gave Georgi both valuable ‘large practice’ experience but also, particularly in Silicon Valley, an appreciation of technology.

After moving back to the UK in 2003, Georgi worked in a variety of roles at 3 blue chip companies up until the birth of her twin girls in 2010.  Gaining time in industry gave Georgi the confidence and knowledge to start her own business.

Georgi has become something of a past master at learning and the introduction of innovative software and technology to make life easier for business owners.

“After more than 15 years experience, I created Starfish Accounting to provide accounting services and support to help small businesses and start ups.

My mission is to help women in business. To help them to achieve their goals, to grow their businesses, and to do so with approachable, friendly, non-stuffy advice and support.

That doesn’t mean that all of our clients are female. At the last count around a third of our clients are male. But my belief, rightly or wrongly, is that it is harder for women in business to get the support that they need, and I want to fill some of that gap.”
